Nikhil Siddhartha, who is known for his variety in his script selection has again come up with a unique script and this time, he deals with the concept of souls. How has he and the film fared? Read through.
Story of the film revolves around a love story of the hero and how that story links to 4 different people. How Nikhil loses his love and how Hebah Patel and Nanditha fit in the whole picture forms the rest of the story.
It would be unfair to not mention the name first and so we go gaga about Nanditha Shwetha. She did her role perfect justice and though it was mostly a serious expression all through she did an excellent job carrying those emotions and this might be a master stroke from the director choosing her for the role. Nikhil was his usual self and carried the role with ease while Hebah’s antics were a bit too unnatural. She tried to be Kumari again which didn’t suit the tone of the film. Vennela Kishore once again gets a meaty role and does well. Rest of the crew is adequate.
Songs and Background Music:
Songs would not be a major attraction of the film but they don’t spoil the fun as well. They carry the movie forward which eases the proceedings and most of them were shot very well in Indian locales. Background music is good and never overdoes the proceedings. It could still have been better to make much more impact, especially during the thrills.
Direction, Screenplay and Dialogues
The director chose a novel script which itself was more than enough to get the time filled in but his screenplay does the trick with humour added in the right dose. The first half sets up the proceedings nicely with some lazy moments between but the interval sets up nicely for a second half and the second half goes well for the most part except the climax which though convincing, has been dragged.
Cinematography is top notch and the film has been shot in great light, especially the locales of Kerala have been beautifully captured. Songs were shot well and the picturization helps view the otherwise not-so-great songs.
Technical values by Meghana Arts are very good and the art work of the film is great as well. Special care has been taken for accessories used by Nanditha that suited her very well.
Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada is again a winner from Nikhil and will go down as one bolder attempt in his kitty. The story, comedy and the thrills make the film a decent watch. Few moments in the first half and the last few minutes in the second half spoil the fun a bit otherwise for which it could’ve been a great watch.
