Varun Tej, who is in full form with his recent blockbuster Fidaa, is all again played a lover boy role in much anticipated release Tholi prema. The film premiers in US have opened to very good response a day before its release in Telugu states. With its release in Telugu states today; did the film carry out same positive response here? Let’s go through in detail about the film.
Makers have well established the plot through Trailers and promotional events. The main plot is all about how lead pair fell in first love with each other and get's separated with personality clashes. The rest of the story is all about how their paths cross each other and how their love wins.
Varun Tej played role of Aadi, who is quick in making decisions and confident in nature. Varun's performance as aadi will be well appreciated all over and has done 100% justice to the role. Varun's looks dapper in second half with his complete makeover. Raashi khanna who is definitely in need of success has superbly performed role of Varsha and stands out as one of her career best performance. Priyadarshi and Hyper Aadi are good in their roles by providing decent entertainment.
Songs and Background Music:
Songs are definitely one of the big asset of the film and sets the mood of the film, this is one of the finest compositions by Thaman So far. The background score carries out well with the movie and Thaman's trademark Background scores goes well in action episodes too, especially shirt button fight scene.
Direction, Screenplay and Dialogues
After this film, Venky Atluri will definitely be one of the bankable directors who is detailing in every aspect of the film right from cast selection to the quality of taking. Dialogues by Venky go natural and apt, the way he pulled out performances from lead cast in commendable. Screenplay is good.
Cinematography by George C Williams goes as special mention in the film. The lighting and colours are apt for the theme of the film. Special mentions goes for this work on 'Ninnela Ninnela' and 'Sunona Sunaina' songs, also the way he handles the coke tin fight in first half impresses. The way he showcases London scenes in second half shows his depth in camera work. Varun Tej and Raashi khanna are shown at their best on screen.
Production values are as good as rest of SVCC productions. First half and the songs are well shot in the college, the production values shown in second half in London takes the film to next level and showcased every frame rich to the viewers. B V S N Prasad production values didn't compromise in single frame of the film.
Tholi prema strikes the cord of this generation's love. First half makes it very engaging with lead pair love chemistry, decent comedy and songs. While second half proceeding goes little slow and goes expected at times, lead performances and style of taking makes it a good watch. The film goes well with youth and overseas audience.
Watch it for Performances and Songs.
